Three weeks ago we looked at credit card transaction data to see if the #DeleteUber campaign was having an effect on Uber's share of ridesharing market vs. Lyft, its largest competitor. We saw that indeed, Lyft surged following Uber's bad publicity. On Saturday a week ago, when Taxi drivers in New York City were protesting the President's "Immigration Ban" by staging an hour-long work stoppage of Taxis serving the JFK airport, Uber, the popular ride-sharing app, announced it was turning off surge pricing for JFK.
